Supreme court set to give final ruling on Taraba case Today.

The Supreme Court is ruling on a matter brought to it by Taraba's former Acting Governor Garba Umar UTC. Umar has on several said he was not allowed to contest the 2015 governorship election. Though he has been to several lower courts who had thrown out the matter for lacking merit because he has participated in the primaries and lost, the lower court had said. The Supreme Court would today seek to bring the issue to a closure. Both sides are hopeful. Umar, it would be recalled was sacked by the same Supreme Court in 2015 when the apex court said he was illegally occupying the office of the deputy governor. Alhaji Sani Danladi as then declared the winner and returned as deputy governor. Arc. Darius Ishaku then won the party primaries to contest the governorship election. Senator Aisha Alhassan, now minister, dragged Ishaku to court in a sensational case that ended at the Supreme Court. Ishaku won the case in February 2016.
