Leaked MoU! Akwa Ibom APC guber candidate, Nsima Ekere to give lands to Miyetti Allah for Cattle Colonies
-To appoint Fulani Heads as Traditional Rulers of colonies
-Receives N3.8bn donation for election
Ekere also agreed to the appointment of Fulani Heads, to be known as Sarkin Fulani for the Cattle Colonies, with the Sarkin Fulani having the same status as Traditional Rulers known in Akwa Ibom as Edidem.
In return for his promise to give lands for cattle colonies and also ensure the enthronement of 31 Fulani Heads in Akwa Ibom State, Ekere was promised a sum of N3.8 billion by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association as contribution to his election while the association is to mobilize its members in Akwa Ibom and neighbouring States to vote for him (Ekere) on Saturday.
All these were contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated January 15, 2019 between the APC gubernatorial candidate and Miyetti Allah, a copy of which was seen by our reporter today.
The MoU was signed by the Miyetti Allah National President, Alhaji Muhammadu Kirowa and Secretary, Baba Ngelzarma as well as Nsima Ekere.
In the MoU, Ekere, who was referred to as “The Candidate” was said to have approached the Miyetti Allah for support in his bid to become the Governor of Akwa Ibom State and the association agreed to give him total support to realize the governorship ambition.
The eight-points agreement read; “Miyetti Allah shall make financial contribution of N3.8 billion (Three Billion, Eight Hundred Million Naira only) to The Candidate.
“Miyetti Allah shall mobilise its members in Akwa Ibom and neighbouring States to attend campaign rallies of The Candidate and vote for The Candidate on the 2nd day of March 2019.
“Miyetti Allah shall use its networks, especially with the Presidency and security agencies to support The Candidate.
“Within the first three months of assumption of office, The Candidate shall cause the State House of Assembly to legislate on establishment of Cattle Colonies in Akwa Ibom State.
“That The Candidate shall not for any reason or whatsoever ban open grazing in Akwa Ibom State.
“That Cattle Colonies shall be established in all the 31 Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State.
“That Miyetti Allah shall have the sole responsibility of appointing SARKIN FULANI (Fulani Heads) for the Cattle Colonies and the Sarkin Fulani shall have the same status as Traditional Rulers (Edidem).
“That in the event of dispute, parties to this MoU shall abide with result of arbitration in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
