The people of yandang Community today visited His Excellency the Executive Governor of Taraba State Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, the meeting took place at the Governor's chamber government house Jalingo and had in attendance His Excellency Deputy Governor Taraba state Enrg Haruna Manu, Hon Danladi Baido Member Reps Ardo Kola, Lau, Karim Lamido federal Constituency, SSG and other government functionaries.
Governor Ishaku thank the yandang's for having him in mind and for coming to visit him. Ishaku said they were indeed the first to approve of his Candidature in 2015 saying Dr Kobiba was one among those who came fronting the shift of power to South. Gov Ishaku said he was the facilitator but it never crossed his mind that he will be the Governor or the preferred one. Though Man proposes but God disposes and said he is a typical example of God disposition.
Darius said if it were for money he had already made up his mind never to temper with politics because God had blessed him enough but the call to serve changed his stands and he heed to it. He said he definitely will displeased some politicians but he won't relent because things have to change and others have to get displeased
Governor Darius said alot have changed and that has always been his dream in making sure that he put smiles on someone's face and he is doing just that . Ishaku said we are conquering, we shall Conquer and keep emerging victorious in all helms of government. He ends by saying he will continue to do his best in making sure that Taraba attends an enviable Height. Ishaku admonished all appointees to always reach back home so that others can benefit from them because he appointed them so that they can also appoints others, he ask them to stretch there hands to empower those at home no matter how little so that they can boast of been a stakeholder and not just a Honorable by name
The Governor said For all the request they've asked he will immediately order for deployment of police to the troubled areas and also look into other pressing needs so that most of the displaced persons can return to there homes. He express gratitude for there support in the last elections and urge them to double the efforts in 2019.
Speaking on behalf of the Yandang Community Dr Kobiba said it is a show of great love for the Governor to have granted them audience in such a short notice, he thank the Governor for his gracious and outstretched of appointments to the community, saying if they had a chiefdom they would have giving him a chieftaincy title.
Dr Kobiba started it emphatically that they are in support of the Anti open grazing law which was recently implemented by the Governor. he said this was one of the best thing that has ever happen to Taraba.
Hon Danladi Baido in a brief remarks said if there is one tribe in Taraba state that will stand for the Governor without blinking there eyes is the yandang. Baido said if you look at the yandang votes you will always find out that they are the only tribe in Taraba that has a 99% vote incessantly for PDP and pleaded saying it is high time the yandang gets a chiefdom and prayed the Governor to please remember the yandang as those who love him more.
Also one of the Speaker Said the yandang Community was the first community that endorsed the candidature of the Governor during the 2015 general elections. He thank the Governor for the relief materials provided for the victims of the herdsmen and farmers clashes. The visit of the yandang Community he said was to request for the stationing of securities in some affected areas in Lau LG, to facilitate more centers for the ongoing voters card registration and other needs. They used the medium to endorsed the candidature of Governor Darius Ishaku for the 2019 reelection saying his return is not negotiable but a done deal.
