Governor Ishaku meets Traditional rulers, set to kick start Anti Open Grazing bill on Thursday 25th

His Excellency Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku today held a meeting with the sixteen LG council Traditional rulers. The meeting is aim at having a Smith take off of the Anti open grazing law. The took Place at the Government House Executive council chambers Jalingo

Briefing the Press after the meeting His Excellency Deputy Governor Enrg Haruna Manu said the meeting was summoned to brief the traditional rulers about the anti open grazing law and the implementation of the law on Thursday 25th January 2018. Speaking Manu said the Governor assured the traditional rulers that it will boost the economy activities of  the state,  Saying the implementation will be carried out gradually by establishing of clinic, training centers and even personnel.

Manu said  the life stocks control marshal will be put in place after a process of recruitment as well as  sensitization workshops carried out to educate both farmers and herders, saying the traditional rulers  will over see this process.  He urged the people to shun anything that will sabotage the efforts of a successful tale off of the law.

The traditional rulers were excited about the decision and the Governor applauded them  for showing support on the implementation of the law. He said there is a pilot ranching which have been identified by the govt and will serve as a kickoff for sample to others. As part of the gradual process of implementing this process, there will be a workshop on Thursday for a start and it will be done in the entire sixteen LG areas on a later date.

 Ranching he said is not new in Taraba as it has been practiced long before now in places like Mambila and will be spread all over the state and those who have indicated interest will also be trained on the best way to go about it.
