A group, the coalition of Mambilla plateau indigenous for peace has reacted to Emir Sanusi's position on the 2017 killings in Mambilla Plateau, Taraba state.

The indigenes, in a statement, advised the Emir of Kano to visit Mambilla Plateau so as to get abreast with reality on ground.

The group said "Sanusi was not correct in his submission as regards happenings in Mambilla Plateau. If Sanusi is well apprised with happenings in Taraba state especially as it relates to activities of Fulani Herdsmen, he would not have made such submission".

The indigenes were reacting to the emir's position on 2017 killings in Mambilla plateau. The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, had on 14th January, 2018 in an interview with the Punch, blamed the Federal Government for killings in the northern part of the country, stating that "over 800 Fulani Herdsmen were killed in Mambilla plateau, Taraba state in 2017".which is not Correct According the Figures we shall present later as Submitted by Miyetti Allah Taraba State He had also accused some Taraba politicians as being responsible for those killings.

While rejecting Sanusi's submission, the group said even though activities of Fulani Herdsmen were unbecoming on the plateau, the figures so submitted were however grossly exaggerated so as to attract sympathy from Miyetti Allah stalwarts such as Sanusi.

"Perhaps, some examples will show the Emir the extent of damages that Fulani Herdsmen did to the land and people of Mambilla and Taraba at large."

The group categorically submitted that none of its politician ignited the mambilla squabbles as so claimed. The ethnic conflicts that erupted on the plateau thereby impeding the path of growth and development in the land was just unfortunate, a repeat of which stakeholders in the land  through various peace initiatives have been working to avert.

The Emir also failed to tell the world about hired Fulani Machineries in 2001/2002 Crisis ignited by Fulani which led to the Death of Mambilla People in Leme, Yirma,Tungwa Danmaina, Papa, Ninge which Some of them were Praying Fajr Prayers and host of other Communities with the intention of Cleaning up Mambilla Community in those areas.

Most Recent On 7/1/18 when Mambilla Community in Maisamari Gatherd for their Annual Cultural Dance same Fulani Gun Men 🔫  attack the Dancers around 9pm killed 4 instantly and more than 8 Injured which one died at the hospital again Mr Emir Your informers did not tell of all this.

On Anti Open Grazing Law in Taraba state, the group applauded Governor Darius and Taraba State House of Assembly for its firm stand on this, reiterating that the law is in the good interest of all Tarabans, devoid of any form of isolation or hate.
