The Governor of Taraba His Excellency Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku and his neighboring state Benue Dr Samuel Orthom today met at there state boundaries (wukari Ayin Akwana) to settle dispute which has lingered for long

The talk to place on the Ayin Akwana road and had the two deputy Governors of both state who are also the chairmen of the boundary demarcation present.  Others in the entourage are service Chiefs of both states, traditional rulers, permanent secretaries of the concern ministries and top govt functionaries of both states

The both Governors spoke in one voice and made it clear as to why they took the bold step to come out and address the boundary misunderstanding.

Gov Ishaku of Taraba speaking said he finds no reason why people will have to fight over land and identity saying the demarcation is just an administrative aspect but we are all brothers and sisters who should live as one irrespective of tribe and state identity. Ishaku said we shouldn't take tribe or religion to be the aim of life but let love lead adding that after the resolution if you are a Tiv and finds your self in Taraba he will be in total care of what concerns you and if you are a Jukun who ends up on the side of Benue his brother Governor (Orthom) will hence Fort take care of all that concerns you.

Governor Ishaku said for both him and Orthom to be Governors at the same time after serving in the past administration as Ministers,  it means God has a perfect reason and good purpose  for the two states and they will work towards restoring everlasting peace in the land. Darius said they will come together and plead with the Federal government to reconstruct the road from Akwana through Ayin to wukari or Rehabilitate it for easy access to both state as it is a federal road.

In a like manner,  Governor Samuel Orthom call on the people of both states to shelf there differences and embrace each other adding that from the federal demarcation it was demarcated that Moore should be in Taraba and Chanchanji in Benue but from inception it wasn't so that is why when he met with Gov Ishaku sometime early this year they agreed amicably that Moore should be Benue and Chanchanji be conceded to Taraba, saying it is the same thing that is likely to take place after the two chairmen of the boundary demarcation must have concluded there consultations with the people of the area.

Governor Orthom went ahead to ask for peace and prayed the people to eschew all form of violence and look towards building a better life for them self and the community.
