Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson IshakuTaraba
State Governor Darius Ishaku has urged the State
Coordinator of New Partnership for Africa’s
Development (NEPAD), Mr Dennis Nev, to re-position
the organisation in enhancing rural development.
Ishaku made the appeal on Monday in Jalingo after
he inaugurated members of the boards of Taraba
Television, Taraba Broadcasting Service, Judicial
Service Commission, Assembly Service Commission
and Nev.
The governor noted that NEPAD was key to rapid
rural transformation in line with its rescue mission
and needed a competent hand like Nev to handle it
for effectiveness.
“Nev, a retired Permanent Secretary, Government
House Administration has all it takes to deliver on his
mandate in the new assignment.
“I have no doubt that you will succeed given your
past track record of service to the state and I am
confident that you will deliver, that is why I appoint
you to coordinate this key office.
“I want to assure you that you will not work alone, I
will personally work with you so that together, we will
re-position the office and bring development to the
state,’’ he said.
Ishaku called on other members of the boards of
parastatals to key into his rescue mission by doing
their best in their various endeavours to deliver
dividends of democracy to the people.
Responding, Nev pledged to re-position the
organisation for effective service delivery.
The coordinator called for the support of the media
and the public in enhancing rural development.
He urged the residents to support Gov. Ishaku’s
peace move and other laudable programmes of the
administration to enable him take the state to greater
heights.
