CAN Taraba Chapter visits Gov Ishaku , Commends his developmental strides

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Taraba state chapter today payed His Excellency Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku a courtesy call, the delegation was led by the Newly elected CAN Chairman Rev innocent Solomon..
The Governor while addressing them said their visit was timely because they are coming when an allegation concerning Illegal training of Marshall had reached him, the Governor said it is unfortunate because all the security outfits were fully notified and involve in the training of this Marshalls, Darius said however God is on his throne and he overseas the affairs of everyone..
The Governor said he was honored to have heard that the CAN mourned late. Ben Ubeh for three months before appointing a new Chairman . Darius congratulated the CAN for coming up with a suitable candidate as chairman. Ishaku said he never knew why leaders ask for prayers until he became a governor. He urge them to keep on praying for the state and for him because the largest ethnic groups in the country are found in Taraba and only through God intervention can such division be united.

The Governor pleaded with the CAN to worked as if onto God and not onto man by preaching love, Peace and to accomodate one another. He thanked them for acknowledging his developmental strides and said more will come through their support and prayers. Ishaku urged them to encourage their members especially on rice farming because the state will soon go into wide rice farming and will provide support for those who are into it.

Darius used the medium to call on the citizens to shun violence and be more useful to them self's and the state, Ishaku said he will resist it Vehemently on areas were anyone wants to intimidate or suppress him, he said he can't be cowed by anyone because he is on seat to serve the good people of Taraba and he is doing it well.

Speaking Rev Solomon thanked the Governor for his love and concern over the growth of the Association he said since the demise of their late leader Rev Ben Ubeh the Governor has worked round the clock in making sure that the Association doesn't broke down. Innocent said he is to pursue seven things as leader which among them peace is the greatest. He said he will work closely with the Muslim and inter-religion council to foster peace and unity in the state.

Rev Solomon said there are alot of things that needs to be done by the Governor but with out peace it will have no space to stay. The CAN chairman commended the Governor for his efforts towards developing the state, he said Darius is one Governor who has not only worked but has touched almost every sector in the state. He assured the Governor that they will be praying for and with him because that is the greatest gift they have for him and the state. Innocent lastly assured the Governor that his leadership as CAN chairman will by God grace be a memorable and glorious one.
