Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku Flagg's off Workshop for Effective Leadership at the LG Level

The event took place at the Taraba State University and had in attendance, top government functionaries, State service Chiefs as well as the Taraba State University governing council
Governor Ishaku flagging off the workshop said the rescue train has been moving swiftly and smoothly. Ishaku said he is moving to mining power and rural development and this requires quality leadership. Darius said he has been working closely with LG council since his assumption to office in making sure that the people has a very comfortable leaving.
He said his close working with the LG council has proving to him that capacity building will go along way in changing the leadership qualities in our state. Gov Ishaku said now that he has activated the alert payment system, no worker is going to work again because alert is alerting them and said he will start paying LG surprise visit. He said the decision for bringing the University to conduct this Workshop /program is strategic and deliberate because it will continue to engage the University so that more fruitfulness will yield from her.
Gov Ishaku said the workshop will build a self esteem project and knowledge in all participants. He urge the local government to learn so that any penny giving to them will be used judiciously to help in building the people and his community. Ishaku said he has once giving them 5million to identify any project which has bearings on the grassroots but until today non has identified any and no one has return to give details on how the money was used. He declared the workshop open to the glory of God and growth of Taraba
The Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly Rt Hon Abel Peter Diah Giving a key note address at the Flagg off said the value of Local government is inestimable he said the challenges public officers has is to extend the Congress and to make sure that every done work is delivered on time.
Capacity building is key to cope with the increase of good services to the Government. He said if we get things right from the LG level it would have far reach the federal government long before now Abel said good leadership can only be found in he who has the mind to drive home the service to human with a well build capacity.
The workshop is timely and has hope in the workshop knowing that those lost glory in quality delivery from LG will return without stress he said. Diah commended the Governor for facilitated the workshop and also the Vice Chancellor for coming up with such a wonderful initiative.
The Rescue Chancellor Professor Vincent Tenebe VC TSU speaking at the Flag off said the coming of the Governor has demonstrated the genuine interest in building capacity in democracy and also to build the University into a top ranking one in the nation.
Vincent said with the coming of the Governor more faculties and other learning centers like advancement unit to take care of advancement has been created, he said the University has moved from 39-1 in number. The approval of the rescue captain to sponsored 30 staffs and student to China to grow in the entrepreneur is a commendable effort Tenebe applauded .
The VC said he was pleased that the workshop of the Taraba State is to be handle by the University this he said shows that the Governor has the University in high esteem. He said they will be gathering of key stakeholders to design Taraba investment project purposely for the Mambilla hydro and told the Governor that he need not to commission anyone as consultant because his University is already there to design explore and bring up a frame work on how to progress. He said the University is waiting for the provision of land from the Governor to venture into sugarcane production in collaboration with other companies like China etc.
Professor Tenebe on behalf of the governing council extend his profound gratitude and solidarity to Governor Darius and his administration saying he really indeed is a Rescue Captain.
