The events which was organised by the Taraba state government in conjuction with Assistance Meridian ideal future base LTD , took place at the Gym hall jolly Nyame stadium jalingo. The executive Governor His Excellency Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku was ably represented by the SSG Hon Anthony Jellason and had in attendance the chairman house committee on education, Commisioner for Education Hon Johannes jigim, commissioner for Works Hon Tafaki Agbadu, commisioner for environment, Hon loius, comissioner for youths and soprts Hon Ndafro, V.C Tsu prof Elizabeth, Chairman Primary board education Hon Yakubu Agwaizo, members primary board Taraba state and lots more.
His Excellency the governor ~ it is with great honour that I welcome you all to train the trainers workshop. As you are all awear teachers are the key players in the delivery of quality education and human capital development. I therefore urge you all to take full participation and quality contribution which are highly desired so that fruitful outcomes can be produced from this workshop for the benefits of our state and nation at large.
The Governor said the education sector is the cardinal point of the rescue agenda and his administration will do all within his powers to enhance quality training in other to have continue qualities in the sector.while government remain resolute in its commitment to this cause, it is however necessary to emphasize that government alone can not do it. In essence private sectors participation is paramount if the citizenry at all level are to be given access to quality education. How ever the government can provide all the facilities, equipment, resources to match global standard of education, but unless we have qualified professional teachers which can propel the product of graduate that can compete globally the aim won't be achieved and that is what informed the organising of this workshop. In a opening remarks the commisioner for education Hon Johannes jigim thanked the Governor for putting the education sector first in his agenda. He said since the assumption of office by the rescue captain, education has grown to it pick and imporovenmts are visible, he said for the first time since the creation of Taraba state, it scored 63.5% this year in WAEC and this is a evidence that the rescue mission is working in the education sector. Hon jigim also hail the governor for paying the bills for complete 3 days of the workshop for the entire principles, headmasters and pray that God gives the governor more wisdom to move Taraba to a greater hight. He also thanked the principles and urge them not to reliant in there duties even though there are challenges but assured them all is going to be resolved in the shortest possible time.
In a short speech the Vice chancellor Taraba state University Professor Elizabeth, applauded the Governor for giving the education sector a conducive environment to express her qualities. She gave credits to the teachers saying the honour of making this state great lays with the teachers and with the proper delivery of knowledge from the teachers to the students, greatness is inevitable. She said she is a product of Taraba state education sector and if she can get to were she got by that which was giving to her by Taraba state teachers then anyone can. She finally urged the teachers to take the business of growing the students In knowledge serious as all it takes to make Taraba great is in there hands.
Rescue mission is indeed working in the education sector and Taraba at large.
