Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has sign the Anti
open grazing bill into law, The event took place at
the Exco chambers Government house jalingo with
the Deputy Gov, speaker, SSG, COS,
commissioners, Advisers all present.
Speaking Gov Ishaku said, Today marks yet
another mile stone in the history of Taraba state
as he signs into law the open grazing prohibition
bill recently passed by the State house of
Assembly, It is his humble believe that it will turn
the social lives of the people of Taraba state for
the best.
Ishaku said this was necessitated by the unwanted
occurrence over the years which the country has
experienced in the hands of the killer herdsmen,
turning the traditional practice of our farmers into
night mare. The killer herdsmen has turn the
nation into a weapon moving stage Ishaku said.
They've made the security's work day and night to
achieve good leaving but to no avail.
The activities of this strange herdsmen had defeats
all securities checks and questions are been asked
with little or no answer to how they come about
the Sophisticated weapons they move about with,
And as the head of the state he has resulted in
looking for the best solution on how to stop all this
unwanted killings and this led to submission of the
letter for the bill to the house.
Gov Ishaku said It is to the credit of the speaker
and the entire members that today this bill has
been passed into law and assured them that this
will stand for them and in the sands of time in the
future. He said the transition period from open
grazing to ranching will be six month with effect
from 24 July 2017, During this period there will be
sensitization for cattle rearers and farmers will
cultivate grasses that will be sold to the cattle
rearers. He said cattle rearing will soon be a
universal business which by this act will soon
make Taraba one of the largest beef and milk
producers. He appealed to Nigerians especially the
elite to eschew the temptation of playing politics
with the lives of citizens and urge them to avoid
the support of the killer herdsmen.
Ishaku added saying he has taken an orth to
defend the people of Taraba and every decision he
takes he is sure that the people of Taraba will see
the best out of it as it is from his heart.
Governor ishaku spoke on the retires pensions
saying the funds the state will receive from the
Paris club will be used to pay all outstanding
pension and other outstanding in the local
governments.
Also he went ahead to remind the people that the
burial arrangement of late Gov Danbaba Danfulani
suntai is on top gear as the state is doing
everything to give him a state farewell, he
appealed to all Taraban to pray as we enter the
emotional period, he pleaded that we should all
come together and give him the require last
respect.
The Governor went ahead by saying he has send a
request to the State house of Assembly to approve
the naming of Jalingo airport after Danbaba
Danfulani Suntai airport as the ordeal that lead to
his accident was a plan crash.
The Governor went ahead to inform the public that
the Mararaba Pantisawa Yoro road will be flag off
tomorrow
