Taraba State governor, Arc. Darius Ishaku has assured all non-indigenes living in the state that his administration remains committed towards promoting peace and security of both indigenes and non-indigenes in the state.
Ishaku, who stated this yesterday in Jalingo during the 20th anniversary Offalla festival of His Royal Highness, Igwe Wilfred Ibe said no state would rise to become a commercial state without accommodating other ethnic nationalities.
The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Tourism, Hon. James Atomashi said as responsible and law abiding citizens, the Igbos and other tribes in the state should feel at home and go about their businesses without any fear of intimidation.
“I am assuring you that you will continue to be safe and your businesses would be safe too.
All we need is to live in peace with one another,” he said.
The Governor who thanked non indigenes in the state for their positive contributions to the economy and security of the state explained that the state was currently witnessing increase in business activities.
In his speech, the Eze Indigbo 1 of Taraba State, Igwe Wilfred Ibe thanked the governor for always identifying with the igbos and other tribes in the state, stressing that the non-indigenes in the state would continue to support the programmes and aspirations of governor Ishaku to improve the living standard of the people.
He commended Governor Ishaku for his efforts in sustaining peaceful atmosphere among all tribes since he assumed office in 2015.
