The event took place at Takum government Lodge and had in attendance at the former Governor His Excellency Rev Jolly Nyame, LG chairmen, Members Taraba state House of Assembly, Commissioners etc.
Governor Ishaku at the event spoke highly of His Excellency Rev Jolly Nyame. He said the humility of the former Governor is incomparable because all his contacts with him has been wisdom and today he is seen the outcome. Ishaku said he Jolly has done much during his time, Danbaba has done his and he is doing his on part now.
Governor Ishaku said he called the youths today because there is no society that succeed without the youths. He said they are critical in the part of the development of the state and National at large. Ishaku said he is there for them and will make sure that the purse is well observed while dealing with them. Speaking he said all he promised will not be left without been done and those he put if, should be considered with the terms that followed it.
Darius showed concern on the level of drugs abuse amongst the youth in the state, he said most of the issues such as kidnapping, reaping and most crimes are the influence of drugs, he advised the youths and told them to stay away from drugs so that the future can be better. Ishaku told them that alot has been put into the youths because he wants them to be of use to the society. He mentioned few who attended the Akintola training Institute in Ogun state and others who were sent to Kenya. He ask those who are not into anything to make them self's known to the LG chairmen so that something can be done for there enrollment into the empowerment going on in the state. The Governor reassured the youths that he is ever ready and available for them and to make sure that they are well rooted with a brighter future.
As the peace envoy that DDI is,he urged the youths and the entire people of the state to preach peace, talk peace, work peace, eat peace, drink peace so that love can continually be build amongst all of us. He appealed to the citizens to show love in this period of love because the reason for the season is peace and prayed that it will be rooted in every Tarabans.
Darius said it is not easy but we have to tolerate one another so that all which we are blessed with will be well harnessed. He said Taraba has a white gold which is the best type of it because it is eatable and urged the people to key into the production of the white gold ( Agriculture). He advised the youths to go into bene seeds because foreign countries are now coming for it in high quantity and believes that it will bring about tremendous wealth creation to the state and among the youths.
Governor Ishaku thanked General TY Danjuma for giving the state a well equipped Maternity hospital and urged the youths to make it their own by observing it and protecting it.
Kurmi youths speaking said Gov DDI coming is a mandate from God. He said the Governor has brought smiles on the faces of the youths and this is unusual that a Governor will invite his youths to come dine, celebrates and wine with him, they are indeed grateful and assured him of their continues support.
Wukari youths speaking through Aboki Danjuma , said they are indeed over whelmed with joy, he said they have nicknamed him a people developer, they said they have never seen a Governor that initiated a project of a billion Naira in wukari but he Darius has done it. They said the issue of going to seek for consultant some were else has ended and they are grateful because health has found his remedy. They celebrated him as a life invoker, a true politician and a seasons leader.
They said in the area of security he has restore peace to them, they went ahead to recognized the construction of wukari sukundi road and believes that he is really a God sent. They said God who brought him on throne knew that he is going to wipe away the tears of the people and joy has been restored to families, he prayed that what ever the Governor place his hands to do will prosper and his return in 2019 is not negotiable.
Rev Adafa spoke on behalf of Ussa and Yangtu and said they will never ever forget the name DDI, he said when Satan's brought in worms to eat up the people and they went wondering what and how to do it, here came the Rescue team. He said thy thought they won't make it to this day but hear are they alive and celebrating and the restoration of this peace is one thing never to be forgotten. Adafa said said when they saw the construction of Ussa raod going on they became more joyous, they went ahead to recognize the the Governor's kind hearted over treating most of their parents over seas. They thanked him earnestly and said God has placed him on the helm of affairs and he is fulfilling the mind of God.
Speaking on behalf of Takum youths Mr Danjuma Scatter gave profound gratitude to God almighty for chosing someone from Takum to become a Governor, he said they have enjoyed so much benefit from his administration to mentioned few are youths empowerment, Roads network within the metropolis, and numerous others. They said they from Takum are solidly behind him in support of his peace movement they reminded the Governor that they are the back bones of the society and will never allow anyone put a cut on what God has rightfully ordained, they prepared and endorsement for the Governor's second term tomorrow by 10am at Rimi LG.
Donga youths spoke and appreciated the Governor for the surprise visit on Christmas day, they said they never expected it but he has brought back that hope to them by that singular act. They appreciated all that he has done for the people of Donga and prayed that he will find the resources to carry on with this projects.
Ibi spoke through Murtala. While Speaking he said the name Rescue Captain should have been General because he is doing more than a captain. Murtala said they are doing there best to sustain the peace which the Governor has worked hard to earn. They assured the Governor that God willing by 2019 they will vote him 99.9 percent.
A Mission group from Wukari who were present also expressed gratitude through pastor Yohana Adi to God almighty for bringing Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku to govern Taraba state, they said the Wukari mission school will be 100 years by next year and they are proud because it was father to the Governor who fronted the establishment of the School. They prayed to God almighty for strength, health and long life for the Governor.
Old Boys GSS Takum spoke through one of her own who is also a permanent Secretary, they came in appreciation for the construction work which will commenced soon in GSS Takum , he said the Governor has promised that when the work is completed it will be upgraded to a international college. They were hopeful while thanking the Governor that they believe the work will be completed in 8 months as promised. The state solicitor general of Perm secs said they are indeed grateful for employing them into key positions in the state
