Taraba State Governor Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku has been awarded the best performing Governor in North East and North Central of Nigeria. The award which was giving to him on Sunday 5th November,2017 at Benue Hotels and Resort saw the governor emerging as one of the five most performing governors in Nigeria. Governor Obiano of Anambara, emerged for South East, Governor Akinwumi Ambode for South West, Governor Wike Nyesome for South South and Governor Aminu Tambuwal for North West. Non of the Governors in North Central was able to meet up with the performance criteria set by the organisers.
The Award night which was an initiative of Performance Management specialist across the country was organised by Profile Magazine in collaboration with Channels Television, NTA and Vigor Award International. The Governor who was represented at the occasion by his Chief of Staff Rebo Usman, appreciated the organisers for the honour done to the governor, he said this will motivate the Governor to do more for the good people of Taraba state, he promised that the Rescue agenda of the governor will be pursue to the latter.
Some of the achievements of the governor that was celebrated at the occasion include, the Governor's revolution in water sector, Electricity improvement in the state, road constructions including some federal roads in the state, reviving some government owned companies like Viva feeds, and Mambila beverages company the makers of highland tea among others, revolution in agriculture including the construction of magnificent Green house project, digitalisation of TTV, Youth and Women empowerment programme, prompt payment of Taraba and tackling of ghost workers among others .
