Gov. Darius Ishaku Successful Digitalization Of Taraba Television (TTV) And The Implications

Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has described the media's role in informing and educating the public as a critical factor in the realization of core visions of his administration. This declaration is coming at the heels of the recent commencement of transmission on digital platform by one of the state-owned media houses and the Governor's impression of the media revolution emanating from his concerted effort to rescue various sectors.
In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Sylvanus Giwa and made available to pressmen in Jalingo on Thursday, Governor Ishaku stated that he is committed to his plan to reposition the State-owned media houses in all aspects and particularly to meet the deadline for migration from analogue to digital platform by June 2017.
The statement expressed the Governor's impression of the ongoing test transmission from the new studio of Taraba Television. According to Giwa, "The Governor is determined to provide all the necessary requirements that will enable the station meet optimal standard in broadcasting". The statement added that the official commissioning of the facility is in the pipeline and plans are ongoing to move the entire establishment to its permanent site to enhance operations. In the same vein, similar plans to conclude the upgrade of the Radio station, Taraba State Broadcasting Service are actively in progress. Arc. Darius Ishaku enjoined the staff to take advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities to raise their prestigious vocation to an enviable standard both locally and internationally.
The statement concluded that the Governor is optimistic that the Rescue Mission of his administration is going to find suitable platform for engagement with the society through the media houses in terms of news, education, entertainment, economic revolution and social development among others.
